Another letter to the Silent Bishops
Sri Lanka Mass Resistance outlines the implications of silence and betrayal
Dear Catholic/Church leaders:
For the last six months, we have been in contact with residents, activists, and grassroots religious groups in Sri Lanka to pressure the national government regarding MP Dolawatta's private bill. This legislation, if it passes, would repeal the anti-sodomy statutes. This is a disastrous course which should not take place.
If sexual perversions between two people of the same sex become normalized, it is a matter of time before the following takes place in Sri Lanka:
Same-sex "marriage"
non-discrimination statutes
Homosexual "Adoption" of children (in reality, child-trafficking, since the children are being taken away from their natural parents)
Promotion of homosexual and transgender themes to children in the classroom
Persecution of individuals and groups who do not support or celebrate homosexuality and transgenderism
Health and moral problems that will further undermine the moral order of Sri Lanka
In the name of a new, so called “progressive democracy,” foreign powers are culturally attacking your country, trying to force the acceptance and celebration of the basest types of sexual immorality upon the free people of Sri Lanka. Don’t let them. Stand up to them.
Be clear in your resistance. Let them know of your absolute and unwavering resolve to cherish and hold dear traditional, God given family values. And that the future of Sri Lanka—your children—will not now, or ever be--placed on the altar of sacrifice.
Make no mistake, they are coming for the children of Sri Lanka. We urge you to speak out and oppose the repeal of these anti-sodomy statutes.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Arthur Schaper, Field Director
